Chevy Has Previewed a Fancy New Key Fob for the 2016 Camaro

Chevy Has Previewed a Fancy New Key Fob for the 2016 Camaro

BAY CITY, Mich. - Chevrolet has been very fair with the amount of information given to the public regarding the all-new 2016 Chevy Camaro. However there is still plenty of information regarding the new muscle car that the auto-world still has yet to learn. Earlier this week, Chevy released just a few details about some accessories the automaker plans to offer for the new muscle car, but Chevy has previewed a fancy new key fob for the 2016 Camaro.

The fob pictured features the usual smattering of buttons like lock, unlock, and an alarm, yet it also includes controls for automatic trunk release and crucially, for convertible models, a button to automatically stow the top. Another thing we do know is that the key fob featured in the photo above, does belong to a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, however we aren’t privy to any other details like the model or trim of the Camaro it’s attached to.

Sure, a key fob won’t make or break a sale, but an original key (at least in the way it looks) is a constant reminder to drivers that they are behind the wheel of something special. That is of course, if the amount of horses underneath the hood doesn't already say that.

No matter what type of news the auto-world gets about the all-new Camaro, it will be exciting news! Chevy has previewed a fancy new key fob for the 2016 Camaro and when the new muscle car arrives to dealers this fall, feel free to stop by and take one for a test-drive! At your St. Charles Area Used Car Dealer, we have tons of Used Chevy Models AND New Chevy Models just waiting for you on our lot! Chevrolet Uses Five Recycled Chevy Volt Batteries To Power One Of Their Data Centers

Chevrolet Uses Five Recycled Chevy Volt Batteries To Power One Of Their Data Centers

BAY CITY, Mich. - Do you ever wonder what happens to those used electric car batteries? Where do they go? Well, Chevy is here to answer that question for you. Chevrolet uses five recycled Chevy Volt batteries to power one of their data centers. The batteries are currently keeping the lights on at the brand-new, state-of-the-art General Motors Enterprise Data Center at its Milford Proving Ground.

Re-purposed Volt battery covers have had many jobs in the past, including being used as bat houses and nesting boxes for endangered duck species, but now General Motors feels like it's finally time to tap into the larger batteries from the first-generation models. The Volt usually draws most of its power from a particular band of energy in the battery pack itself, and there is a lot of useable juice left over for stationary usage. The administration building's circuit breaker panel is fed by a new solar array and two wind turbines where five Volt batteries work in conjunction to supply power to the entire building.

The Volt battery is perfect for this sort of work! Even after the battery has reached the end of its useful life, up to 80 percent of its storage capacity remains intact. The secondary usage actually extends the life of the Volt battery, while delivering waste reduction and economic benefits on an industrial scale.

This system is perfectly ideal for commercial use because a business can derive complete functionality from an existing battery while reducing upfront cost through this reuse of energy. It is truly exciting that Chevrolet uses five recycled Chevy Volt batteries to power one of their data centers, and at Graff Bay City we love representing a company that truly cares for energy sustainability! If you would like to hear more about how Chevy is always pushing the envelope in regards to renewable energy sources, feel free to stop by! NHTSA And Detroit's Big Three Create An Alcohol Detection Technology

NHTSA And Detroit's Big Three Create An Alcohol Detection Technology

BAY CITY, Mich. - Early yesterday morning, the National Highway Traffic Administration unveiled a first-ever prototype vehicle with advanced alcohol detection technology that could ultimately prevent drunk drivers from operating vehicles. The project has been under development since 2008, and the NHTSA has been working with Detroit's Big Three (General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Fiat-Chrysler) to create this game changing technology. Check it out!

Pretty neat huh? The NHTSA and Detroit's Big Three create an alcohol detection technology called the Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety, or "DADDS", which is a non-invasive system aimed at detecting when a driver is above the legal alcohol limit. The technology being used is astonishing, and it looks like they have thought of everything. This announcement was made in front of hundreds of members of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or MADD, at the agency's headquarters, which shows how serious the NHTSA and Detroit's Big Three are.

The big point for automakers is to make sure the new technology is completely reliable, and would not prevent a sober person from driving or operating the vehicle. Currently, Congress is considering legislation to extend federal funding for the research project. Deputy Transportation Secretary Victor Mendez said as recently as a few years ago the technology was a "pipe dream", but after intense research it is closer to a reality. It will be interesting to see where the technology goes in the next few years, and when it will be implemented into models available to the public.

The NHTSA and Detroit's Big Three create an alcohol detection technology that will help fight drunk driving, and make driving an all-around safer activity. According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the rate of drunk driving is highest among 21 to 25 years old (23.4 percent). Hopefully this technology will be a useful tool at colleges and universities across the United States. You can definitely count on Hank Graff Bay City to keep you updated on this new and innovative technology as news is released Hank Graff Chevy is located at 3636 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706 and we are here to help our community grow to become an even better place to call home! For more information on Hank Graff Chevrolet, or for any questions call us at (989) 684-4411 or visit our website: www.GraffBayCity.com.
