The Importance of a Test Drive

The Importance of a Test Drive
BAY CITY, Mich.- Purchasing a new vehicle is a huge decision, and this decision making process is not short. It shouldn't be, you're making a huge investment. However, we hope you didn't make the mistake of NOT taking a test drive, because taking a test drive is one of the most useful tools you posses in the decision making process. Today, we want to help you understand The Importance of a Test Drive.

Let's get one thing out of the way, just because you test drive a vehicle, does not mean that you have to buy it. For some, they feel test driving a vehicle is like making a commitment, when in fact, you're just getting to know the vehicle better, you might even hate it! But, you should never buy a car without test driving it first. You will learn so much about a vehicle by getting behind the wheel, and you should love everything about it before you make the investment.

Secondly, don't make the mistake of assuming you will like all the vehicle has to offer since it is "new". Again, you might actually hate some of the features, but you will never know unless you utilize your most important decision making tool, the test drive. All vehicles drive differently, for example, the 2013 Chevy Equinox drives differently than the 2013 Chevy Avalanche, so it's important to get a feel for how a car drives.

Lastly, try not to get stuck in the mindset that "There's no point in driving it if the numbers aren't exactly right." First of all, you might decide the vehicle isn't right for you anyways. And assuming, you aren't looking way out of your price range, our job is to help you find a car that you love at a price you can afford, so we're here to help!

Hank Graff Chevrolet wants to stress The Importance of a Test Drive when you are thinking about purchasing a new car. It is your most important decision making tool since it is the only way for you to actually experience the vehicle and decide if it is the one for you. To start the search for your dream vehicle check out our New Vehicle Inventory or Hank Graff Used Cars.

Vehicle Warning Light Explanations

Vehicle Warning Light Explanations
BAY CITY, Mich.- Whether you've been driving for 5 years or 75 years, there's probably been a time when one of your Vehicle's Warning Lights turned on. Chances are you probably wondered what that vehicle warning light meant and whether or not you you really needed to get your vehicle serviced. Well, your Mid-Michigan Chevy Dealer has a full review of all of your basic Vehicle Warning Light Explanations covered.

Service Engine Light-
Don't panic. If your Service Engine Light goes off, it usually just means that you need to maintenance your vehicle soon. So don't speed off to your local Service Garage, but you should make a service appointment as soon as you can. Once you get your vehicle serviced, the Service Engine Light will be reset.

Battery Light-
If your Battery Light goes off, you should be a little more concerned. Get your vehicle serviced right away if your Battery Light turns on and stays on, since this can mean that your vehicle's electrical system may have malfunctioned. Ignoring your Battery Warning Light, could lead to engine failure, so don't procrastinate on this one.

Check Engine Light-Your vehicle's Check Engine Light could turn on for a variety of reasons. It may be a simple mistake like not tightening your gas cap enough. But, it could also be warning you about a much more serious issue, so don't ignore it. To find out why the warning light went off, you'll need an OBD2 diagnostic tool to read the fault code. Or, you can visit Graff Bay City's Service Center and we can take figure it out for you!

Oil Warning Light-
Don't wait around if your vehicle's Oil Warning Light turns on. Get your vehicle serviced right away since this usually means that you have low oil pressure. If you ignore this warning, you may cause your engine to malfunction or worse, ruin it completely.

Coolant Warning Light-
The Coolant Warning Light is another vehicle warning light that you'll want to address immediately. This light is warning you that your coolant is low and the engine temperature has exceeded the safe maximum, causing accelerated wear on your vehicle's engine. Pull over immediately and exercise extreme caution. Do not try to open the hood if you notice steam to avoid injury.

Brake Warning Lights-All vehicles are different so your Brake Warning Light can have multiple meanings. Check your owner's manual for the exact meaning on your vehicle. However, if your vehicle is ABS-equipped you may notice an ABS Warning Light. If this warning light turns on, get your vehicle looked at right away since this indicates something is wrong with the system. Exercise even more caution if the warning light is blinking since this can mean that your brakes are dead or dying.

Let us help you keep your vehicle in tip top shape, without breaking the bank. 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Review

2014 Chevrolet Silverado Review

BAY CITY, Mich.- The 2014 Chevy Silverado made its public debut at the Detroit Auto Show this week, and although it looks similar to past models, this 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Review will take you through the useful improvements on the latest Chevy pickup.

The Top Selling Chevy Silverado pickup truck has been reworked to incorporate a lighter but stiffer frame and cab that adds to the vehicles enhanced fuel efficiency. Redesigned doors, mirrors, roof, and tailgate contribute to the Silverado's aerodynamic styling and allow smoother airflow over and around the truck. Although the design changes are subtle, you will notice that this newest Chevy pickup offers more sculpted styling. And don't miss the convenience features like larger, front-hinged rear doors and rear bumper corner steps and handles to better access the truck bed.

Pop the hood, and you can take your pick from one of three new engines, one V6 and two V8s.  All three engine options on the new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado are from the fifth generation of GM's small-block engine family, and provide a variety of fuel saving technologies. Depending on your engine choice, you can save gas with the 2014 Silverado thanks to direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation. The three engines: 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8, and 6.2-liter V8, are also light weight with the use of aluminum blocks and cylinder heads instead of iron.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado Review
One of the most important parts about the all new 2014 Chevy Silverado Review is how you feel driving the truck. Feel at home with interior video screens, wireless connectivity, and a six-gauge instrument cluster. The new Silverado offers plenty of storage as well, including a mini filing cabinet in the center console.

2014 Corvette Stingray

2014 Corvette Stingray
BAY CITY, Mich.- Since the announcement in late 2012 that Chevrolet planned to reveal a completely redesigned Corvette early in 2013, we've been patiently, or impatiently, awaiting the big debut! Well the wait is officially over, as the exciting unveiling took place Sunday night at a Detroit Auto Show preview event at Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. The most anticipated introduction, Chevy's all new 2014 Corvette Stingray did not disappoint!

Speeding right to the important details, the 7th Generation Corvette is the most powerful standard model...EVER. Featuring a LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine, the all new Vette puts out an estimated 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft or torque, compared to just 430 hp in the 2013 Corvette, and jets from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds! Fuel economy was not sacrificed for power, either. The 2014 Corvette Stingray delivers more power with less fuel and is expected to be the most fuel efficient Chevy Corvette, although the gas mileage numbers have not yet been certified.

2014 Corvette StingrayContaining just two parts from the 2013 Vette, the 2014 Corvette Stingray has been completely redesigned inside and out. Structurally, the newest Corvette's frame is now made of aluminum in addition to the light weight carbon fiber roof and hood to reduce weight, instead of the traditional steel frame. The carbon fiber accents are carried over to the interior of the new C7 as well, complimenting the new stitched leather.

Featuring styling cues from the iconic 1960's Corvette, the evolutionary 2014 Corvette Stingray is an impressive new addition to the Corvette line-up. Stay tuned for more detailed information about the 2014 Corvette C7 features and specifications. To learn more about the previous generation Corvette, enjoy our 2013 Chevy Corvette Brochure or check out our Chevrolet Corvette Inventory.
