BAY CITY, Mich.- As Chevrolet approaches year-end the awards keep rolling in, and it doesn't look like they are going to stop anytime soon! The latest acknowledgement for the automaker comes from Automotive and Business Fleet Magazine who named the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Fleet Truck of the Year for 2013!
While all of Chevy's recent awards are an honor, the 2013 Fleet Truck of the Year award is especially rewarding because it confirms the Chevrolet Silverado is still the most dependable and longest lasting truck in the marketplace, even after its redesign this year. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was named 2013 Fleet Truck of the Year by qualified fleet managers who reviewed all industry segments and sizes before making their final decision. Of the 36 trucks evaluated this year, the Silverado received the most votes proving that fleets took notice of the truck's updates.
The updated 2014 Silverado 1500 definitely earned the Fleet Truck of the Year title with its work-ready features that make it the ideal truck for any job site. In an effort to make the workload easier for fleets, the 2014 Silverado 1500 comes equipped with a CornerStep bumper paired with built-in box rail handholds, upper tie-down hooks, under-rail LED lighting, and an EZ Lift/Lower tailgate to make the box more user-friendly.
But that's not the only reason the Chevy Silverado was named Fleet Truck of the Year. The truck also offers best-in-class towing, the highest rating of any standard V6, and impressive fuel efficiency which impacts fleet customer's bottom line!

CD Players Make Quiet Exit From Chevy Vehicles
BAY CITY, Mich. - With new technology being added daily, CD players are making a quiet exit from Chevy Vehicles. Much like the cassette players of the 90s, the compact disk player will slowly be phased out of Chevy Vehicles and be replaced with better and more efficient technologies.
While CD players make a quiet exit from Chevy vehicles, USB ports and other entertainment systems are making their way in. The Chevy Spark is one example, as it no longer comes with a CD player slot on the dashboard. Instead, the small vehicle offers a range of options including USB ports and a MyLink infotainment system that gives drivers the option to stream live music from Pandora or similar music apps.
The reason that CD players will no longer be found in vehicles is simply because they have become outdated. Mountains of CDs are no longer present in most vehicles, as people have found ways to store thousands of songs on their phones, iPods, and more. Automakers are excited that CD players will be pulled from vehicles since it will give them so much more space on the dashboard. Without the CD player hole, designers will have more room to add screens, newer technology, and more.
If you prefer to use a CD player, rest assured that we have a variety of vehicles both with and without the compact disk player. So stop by our Caro Area Chevrolet Dealer today and let us show you our great selection of New Chevrolet Cars and New Chevrolet Trucks. If you're interested in the Chevy Spark, we recommend taking a look at our 2013 Chevy Spark Brochure and then stopping in to take it for a test drive! We're sure it's a vehicle you're going to love!

SPOTTED: 2015 Chevy Colorado
BAY CITY, Mich. - With the weather getting toasty all over the country, photographers have spotted the 2015 Chevy Colorado out for some hot weather testing. Seen out and about in camouflage, we still are left guessing as to what the exterior will look like exactly. However, some interior specs have been confirmed.
The 2015 Chevy Colorado has been confirmed to have a V-6 engine with variable valve timing and direct injection. If you look closely at the picture to the right, you can see that 'V6 VVT' and 'Direct Injection' are stamped on the engine. Using a V-6 engine in the Colorado means that GM is going to make its compact pickup more powerful than the last model.
As for what we can see on the outside, it appears that the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado's grille is the same as the one seen on the 2014 Chevy Silverado. It is wide up front, but appears to have more of a shape to it. Overall it looks like a great vehicle, and we can't wait to see what specifics will continue to surface with this spotted 2015 Chevy Colorado.
Although the 2015 Colorado isn't expected to be sold until the middle of 2014, we have a great selection of 2013 Chevy Colorados on our lot! Stop by our Mt. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray the Most Efficient Sports Car Ever
BAY CITY, Mich. - General Motors has announced the fuel economy figures and it's official: at 30 mpg, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe is the most efficient sports car ever. While it is not the sports car with the best MPG ratings, it is the only sports car in the world that offers 30 mpg while still keeping its 455 hp - these factors combined make the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray the most efficient sports car.

The 2014 Chevy Stingray is sure to dazzle drivers, as it has a new 7-speed manual transmission and a LT1 V8 engine that produces 455 hp. It will get around 17 mpg in town, and 30 on the highway; this is possible because of the vehicle's Eco mode's Active Fuel Management. This system cuts 4 of the 8 cylinders under light loads, or when cruising down the highway. The Stingray will also go from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds!
With the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray being named the most efficient sports car ever, many of the Corvette's competitors will be racing to follow the Stingray's example. It's important to note that the Corvette's biggest competitor, the Porsche 911, scores around the same mpg rating; however, its engine only produces 400 hp. This makes the Stingray the vehicle that can get the most horsepower from the least amount of fuel possible - and that's something to brag about!
While the 2014 Corvette Stingray won't be released to dealers until this fall, we still have a great selection of Corvettes available to you today! Check out our 2013 Chevy Corvette Brochure or stop in today at our Frankenmuth Area Chevrolet Dealership to take it for a test drive! If you're not in the market for a Corvette just yet, we are available to help you at our Used Car Dealership or assist you with getting a New Chevrolet Trucks! So come on in and let us help you into a better vehicle!

6 Simple Fourth of July Recipes
BAY CITY, Mich. - It's officially time to celebrate the red, white and blue as Independence Day has arrived! We know that this day is all about celebration and fun, so you shouldn't have to stress about what you're going to make. Whether you're taking food to a BBQ, or throwing one of your own, we have 6 simple 4th of July recipes that quick and painless.
1. Patriotic Popcorn! This recipe is super simple and super delicious. First, you pop your popcorn (or buy a bag of pre-popped) and place it in a large bowl. Taking a 12 oz. bag of candy melts (we use vanilla), melt the chocolate using either the microwave or your oven. After the candy is melted, pour it over your popped popcorn and toss it to spread the chocolate evenly. Using your hands is recommended, but you can get creative. After it is evenly tossed, take red/blue sprinkles and sprinkle it over your popcorn. The popcorn will need to cool for a few hours, but it's absolutely delicious when it's ready!
2. Layered Fourth of July drinks! The trick to getting the layers is to look at sugar content. For these drinks, Sobe Pina Colada, OceanSpray Cran-Apple, and Gatorade Blueberry-Pomegranate were used. The drink with the highest sugar content (the OceanSpray) will sink to the bottom, while the drink with the lowest sugar content (the Gatorade) will rise to the top. You can use any drink you'd like, as long as you layer the sugar content.
3. Red, White and Blue Strawberries! This is such a simple thing to do and always looks so nice on your table. Using melted white chocolate (if you made the patriotic popcorn, you should still have melted candy melts!), dip your strawberries 3/4 of the way into the chocolate. Immediately after dipping, roll your strawberry in blue sprinkles. They will need time for the chocolate to harden, but they look and taste so nice when they are ready!
4. Spangled Sandwich Pops! The nice thing about this recipe is that the sandwiches are already made - you just have to make them patriotic! Taking a box of ice cream sandwiches, insert a popsicle stick into each one. Then, simply roll the sandwiches in red, white, and blue sprinkles to make them ready for the 4th. If you think these sandwiches will get messy, we recommend sticking the popsicle stick end through a cupcake liner to catch any drips.
5. Independence Day Fruit Salad! This requires almost no effort, as you'll just need a big bowl and various red, white and blue fruit. We recommend using blueberries as your blue fruit, as blueberry season is in full swing here in Michigan. Raspberries, watermelon, or strawberries will work for your red fruit, while bananas work great as your white!
6. DIY Festive Cupcakes! This is a great thing to try if you have kids and want to keep them busy. Simply prepare various red, white and blue cupcakes. After letting them cool, the kids can decorate them with various festive toppings! This entertains the kids and also let's them get a little creative!
We hope you have enjoyed these 6 simple fourth of July recipes! Fourth of July is all about freedom and fun, so enjoy yourselves and be safe!

2014 Chevrolet Silverado Pricing Announced
BAY CITY, Mich.- Chevrolet has risen the bar in the competitive light-suty pick-up truck segment with the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500! Chevy has released that the all-new Silverado has an EPA estimated 23 mpg highway, the best fuel economy of any V8 pick-up truck! 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pricing was announced too; initial pricing will carry over from the base prices of the current models.
The first 2014 Silverado model that we will see hit the streets will be the crew cab, scheduled to launch later this spring. Equipped with the all-new 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab Pricing will remain the same as the base starting prices for the current Silverado crew cab. The same goes for the new double cab Silverado, which replaces the extended cab.
The 2014 Chevy Silverado regular
cab suggested retail price will start at $24,585, including a $995 destination freight charge, which is the same price as the 2013 model. Beginning production this summer, the all-new Silverado regular cab will receive a more powerful and efficient EcoTec3 engine, six-speed automatic
transmission, an updated and quieter interior, four-wheel disc
brakes with Duralife rotors, and a new truck bed with standard box rail protectors and
CornerStep bumper.
Included in the 2014 Chevy Silverado Pricing is the standard scheduled
maintenance program which lasts for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Included in the program are up to
four maintenance visits, which include a regularly scheduled oil change, oil filter replacement, tire
rotation and multi-point vehicle inspection, based on the recommendations in your vehicle owner’s manual.
Also released, were Chevy's EPA estimates of 23 mpg highway for 2wd
models, and 22 mpg highway for 4x4 models, which is better than any V8
competitor! To further save customers money and reduce inconvenience, the Silverado’s
5.3-liter EcoTec3 V-8 is designed to operate on regular 87 octane gasoline even
when towing or hauling.
The updated 2014 Chevrolet Silverado will be arriving soon, but for more information on the current model check out our downloadable 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 Brochure or come see our New Chevrolet Trucks at your Vassar Area Chevrolet Dealer.
