Chevy Debuts Two New Concept Trucks

Chevy Debuts Two New Concept Trucks

BAY CITY, Mich.- At this year's State Fair of Texas, Chevrolet explored the extremes of preparedness with two new concept trucks dedicated to volunteer first responders and ultimate survival. Chevy debuted two new concept trucks, the Volunteer Firefighter and the Black Ops Concept, both of which are based on the 2014 Silverado full-size pickup.

With input from the National Volunteer Fire Council, Chevy used the 2014 Silverado full-size pickup to develop the Silverado Z71 Volunteer Firefighter concept truck to honor the service of first responders. To accommodate a complete supply of rescue equipment, Chevrolet utilized the new Silverado Double Cab and added the Z71 Off Road suspension.

The other concept truck to make its debut, the Black Ops truck, was developed with ultimate survival in mind. Built on the Silverado Crew Cab 4x4, the truck's strength, performance, and safety are all improved to turn a wasteland into an oasis. The sinister-looking concept comes equipped with custom-fabricated lower body armor, a lockable, bed-mounted Truck Vault storage unit, solar power pack, pair of gas masks, gloves, military first aid kit, folding shovel and rope.

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07
BAY CITY, Mich. - While the world eagerly counts down the days until the unveiling of the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it's younger sibling is quietly prowling the streets of Michigan. The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07 has been spotted out and about, shielded behind thick, baggy plastic.

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07Not much is known about the seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette just yet, but from these exciting (albeit modest) shots, a few aspects can be speculated on. For example, a sizable vent is visible ahead of each rear wheel opening - this would be for brake cooling. The exhaust outlets also appear to be larger than the Stingray.

As for the powertrain, it's likely that it will come with the Tremec seven-speed manual transmission. It will also most likely be powered by a turbocharged V8 engine. This would mean it will be more fuel efficient while still being able to put out more than 600 horsepower.

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07The spotted 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07 will unfortunately remain a mystery for awhile longer. However, the 2015 Z06 will make an appearance at the Auto Show this January, and the 2014 Chevy Stingray has arrived. If you'd like to talk about the Chevy Corvette - the new and the classic - we'd be happy to speak with you! Just stop by our Chevrolet Dealership Serving Clio, MI today and we'll go over available options with you.

3 Pumpkin Recipes for Autumn

BAY CITY, Mich. - Autumn has officially arrived which means that cooler weather, warmer drinks, and pumpkin inspired food are all making their presence known.  While pumpkin pie is a delicious go-to food for the Fall season, it's always nice (and delicious!) to try new recipes! That's why we've come up with 3 pumpkin recipes for Autumn that you and your family are sure to love!

1. Pumpkin Pie Muddy Buddies (AKA Pumpkin Puppy Chow). You'll need:

    3 Pumpkin Recipes for Autumn
  • 1 Box Cinnamon Chex Cereals
  • 1 Cup Pumpkin Pie Hershey Kisses
  • 1/2 Cup Cream Cheese Canned Frosting
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
First, microwave the hershey kisses and cream cheese frosting in a large bowl. Do this in 30 second increments until the mixture is smooth and melted, then mix in the vanilla. Using a rubber spatula, mix in the Chex cereal 2 cups at a time until it is completely coated. Place the powdered sugar into a (clean) paper bag and spoon the cereal mixture into it. Roll the top of the bag down and shake vigorously to coat the cereal. When it is coated, store in an airtight container and eat when the mood strikes!

3 Pumpkin Recipes for Autumn2. Pumpkin Pie Dip. You'll need:
  • 1 Package (8 oz) Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Can (15 oz) Solid-Pack Pumpkin
  • 3 Tbsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Tsp. Ground Ginger
  • Apple and Pear Slices
This recipe is super easy AND super delicious! Simply beat the softened cream cheese with the sugar. Gradually add the pumpkin, pie spice, vanilla and ginger - continue to beat until smooth. You can mix in the apple and pear slices if you'd like, otherwise spoon the dip into a bowl and serve Graham Crackers, Nilla Wafers, or Ginger Snaps.

3. Cream Cheese Filled Pumpkin Cookies. You'll need:
Cookies:
  • 2 1/2 Cups Flour
    3 Pumpkin Recipes for Autumn
  • 1 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 4 Oz. Butter, Softened
  • 1/2 Cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Whole Milk
  • 3/4 Cup Canned Pumpkin
Filling:
  • 6 Tbsp. Butter, Softened
  • 4 Oz. Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
For this recipe, you'll want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with wax paper or something similar. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Then in another bowl, beat (from the cookie ingredients) the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until it is light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, then slowly add in the milk and pumpkin. Finally, add the dry ingredients and beat until blended. Spoon out small amounts of the cookie mixture onto the banking sheets and bake for 12-14 minutes, then let cool. While your cookies are cooling, combine the filling ingredients together and beat until smooth. After your cookies are cool, frost the bottom of each cookie and press together to make a cookie sandwich. It's that simple!

Hopefully these 3 pumpkin recipes for Autumn have you excited for the upcoming season. If you'd like to update your ride for the Fall, stop by our dealership today! Consumer Reports 'Top Truck' is the Chevy Silverado

Consumer Reports 'Top Truck' is the Chevy Silverado
BAY CITY, Mich. - The magazine, Consumer Reports has announced its "top-rated truck" for the year and Chevy has come out on top. Consumer Reports 'top truck' is the Chevy Silverado 1500. Chevy's truck beat out the Dodge Ram 1500, who came in second place.

The Chevy Silverado is Consumer Reports 'Top Truck' for various reasons. The ample cargo bed, greater payload capacity, and the ability to tow up to 11,200 pounds are some of the main characteristics that caught the magazine's eye. Other features that Consumer Reports raved about are the corner bump steps, the best-in-class fuel economy of 16 mpg overall, and the tailgate that is easy to raise and lower.

Another factor that we are sure was brought into consideration is the fact that the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 was the first pickup truck ever to receive the highest possible safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This high rating was due mostly to the Silverado's Safety Alert Seat which alerts drivers to traffic danger, the Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and the six standard air bags - among other features.

If you'd like to check out this highly rated and raved about truck, stop by our Clio Area Chevrolet Dealer today! We have a great selection of New Chevrolet Trucks that we know you're going to love. If you're looking for something a little smaller, we also have a variety of  New Chevrolet Cars and Used Cars For Sale. So come see us!

2014 Chevrolet Sonic Enhances Safety Features

2014 Chevrolet Sonic Enhances Safety Features
BAY CITY, Mich. - Many drivers express doubt over how safe subcompact vehicles can be, simply because of their size. Chevy hears these concerns and that's why the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic now has enhanced safety features. These advanced safety features are designed with your concerns in mind, and installed to help put your mind at ease.

Just a few of the safety features available on the 2014 Chevy Sonic are a rear-vision camera, Forward Collision Alert, and a Lane Departure Warning.  The Forward Collision Alert is a great feature that alerts drivers when they approach another vehicle too quickly. This is especially useful for drivers that are distracted, or for new drivers. The Forward Collision Alert will ding quite loudly, alerting the driver that they need to come to a stop.

The Lane Departure Warning alerts drivers when the vehicle veers from a marked roadway lane without using their blinker. It's a great safety feature that encourages safe driving habits by reminding you to use your blinker when switching lanes. If you have no intention of switching lanes but accidently do so, the feature will warn you.

The rear-vision camera is another useful safety feature on the 2014 Chevy Sonic, as it helps drivers have a clear view of what's going on behind the vehicle. You'll see stationary objects behind your vehicle on the Chevy MyLink's 7-inch digital touch-screen. This allows you to be aware of what's happening all around your vehicle - specifically see what's happening in those pesky blind spots.

If you're still not convinced that the Sonic is safe, even with the 2014 Chevy Sonic enhanced safety features, you'll be pleased to know that the Sonic is the first and only car in the subcompact class to receive a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It was also a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety - all of which help to make it one of Chevy's best-selling vehicles among buyers under 35!

If you'd like to take a look at this safe and reliable vehicle for yourself, stop by our Chevrolet Dealership Serving Clio, MI today! One of our friendly team members would be more than happy to set you up with a test drive, or show you our selection of Used Cars For Sale. Tips to Keep Your Schoolchildren Safe

Tips to Keep Your Schoolchildren Safe
BAY CITY, Mich. - With the school year going strong, school zones are in effect and children are filling the streets as they head to and from class. While many think that predators and bullies are the biggest threat to your child at school, it's actually cars! Due to children being unpredictable pedestrians, vehicles are the biggest threat to your kids safety. To keep your kids safe on their walk to and from school, take a look at a few of our tips to keep your schoolchildren safe.

Children are often walking to and from school 6:30a.m. - 8:30a.m. and 2:30p.m. - 4:30p.m. on weekdays from September to June. It is during this time that drivers should be most vigilant, since kids are unpredictable. While crossing guards help teach children when to cross the road, many still cross between parked cars or dart when the crossing signal says no.

With cars being the biggest threat to schoolchildren, it is necessary to take review some tips to keep your schoolchildren safe so that your child knows how to obey pedestrian laws when walking. First, talk to your kids about using traffic signals and crosswalks. Most injuries happen mid-block (meaning not at a crosswalk), so teach your kids about the importance of using a crosswalk. Also, if there is no sidewalk where they are walking, it is okay to walk facing traffic, as long as they stay as far away from vehicles as possible.

Secondly, teach your kids about looking right and left. This may seem pretty obvious, especially since this is a rule that all parents drill into their children's heads from a young age. However, children now have electronic devices to distract them from their surroundings, making it easy to walk into the street without meaning to do so. So teach your children about looking right and left, and crossing the street without the electronic device to distract them.

Another great tip for crossing the street safely: remind kids to make eye contact with drivers before crossing and to watch out for car that are turning or backing up. Most of all, teach your kids to NEVER dart out into the street or cross between parked cars. This is how most schoolchildren are injured, so warn them about crossing the street where it is not marked as a crossing zone.

While you can only do so much to protect your children when they are out and about, Chevy has a variety of ways to protect your family when they are in the car.  If you'd like to discuss all the safety features available to you, our friendly and informative sales team would be more than happy to go over the details. So stop by our Chevrolet Dealership Serving Caro, MI today and we'll be more than happy to show you our selection of New Chevrolet Cars, New Chevrolet Trucks and Used Chevy Cars For Sale.

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet Cruze
BAY CITY, Mich. - Undergoing extreme testing in Frankfurt, Germany, the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze has been spotted! With heavy camouflage and high speeds, photographers were only able to snap quick shots as the Cruze shot by. However, a few changes can be spotted with the 2016 model.

The spotted 2016 Chevrolet Cruze now sports narrowed headlights and a two-part grille. From the back, it looks like not much has changed except for the 'coupe-like' roof treatment. Unfortunately, not much can be seen from these shots so we'll have to continue to wait to see what the 2016 Chevy Cruze's body will look like.

SPOTTED: 2016 Chevrolet CruzeThe redesigned Cruze was originally supposed to debut near the end of 2014, but has been pushed
back until December 2015 because of some major changes - specifically, engineering changes. Rumors from GM have hinted that they will be using the extra time to improve fuel economy, as well as make the cabin and trunk more spacious.

If you'd like to take the current Chevy Cruze out for a spin, don't hesitate to stop by our Chevrolet Dealership serving Clio, MI. 5 Steps to a Relaxing Commute

5 Steps to a Relaxing Commute
BAY CITY, Mich. - Millions of Americans spend their morning commuting to work - no matter if you're worrying about what's waiting for you at work, or feeling stressed about what's going on at home, the drive to your workplace can feel dull or troubling. To help you combat the stresses of driving, here are 5 steps to a relaxing commute:

Listen to an audio book. Your commute to and from work is a great time to listen to your favorite book, or become interested in a new one. By getting into a good story, your commute will fly by - not to mention you'll look forward to your next drive so you can continue the story!

Listen to your favorite music and sing along. Did you know that singing loudly and intensely is actually considered an aerobic exercise? It is! So turn up your music and sing along to your favorite songs - you'll feel less stressed and ready to take on the world.

Make your drive a social one. If you live near co-workers, or your friends work near you, ask them if they'd like to ride together! Not only will this help reduce the amount of times you fill up, it will also give you someone to talk and laugh with during the commute.

Prepare the night before. If you pick out your clothes, make your lunch, set the timer on your coffee machine, and have everything ready to go the night before, you won't feel stressed in the morning! Being able to start your day with everything ready and waiting is a great feeling, which means you won't feel as stressed during the commute or left feeling like you forgot something.

Leave early. It can be extremely stressful to be on the way to work when unexpected construction or an accident puts you behind schedule. By leaving a couple minutes early, you'll feel more in control of your morning and less concerned about how late you're going to be to work. Not to mention, arriving at work a couple minutes early will only give you bonus points with the boss!

While these 5 steps to a relaxing commute should help, having a reliable and comfortable vehicle is the best way to enjoy your ride to work. At Graff Bay City, we have a huge selection of New Chevrolet Cars, New Chevrolet Trucks and Used Cars For Sale - all of which make the drive an enjoyable one! So stop by our Clio Area Chevrolet Dealer today! Hank Graff Chevy is located at 3636 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706. Chevy C7 Corvette Might Become a Hybrid Sports Car

Chevy C7 Corvette Might Become Hybrid Sports Car
BAY CITY, Mich. - In a recent interview, GM President Mark Reuss let the world in on a secret - the Chevy C7 Corvette might become a hybrid sports car in the near future. With so many vehicles in the Chevy lineup becoming more efficient, the car company admits that it has been tossing around the idea of a more efficient and environmentally friendly Corvette.

Currently, the standard Stingray comes with a LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine that can produce about 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft of torque. The sports car goes from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds and is considered to be the most powerful standard model ever. It can also get about 30 mpg on the highway, making it surprisingly fuel efficient for a sports car with that much power.

The possibility that the Chevy C7 Corvette might become a hybrid sports car would mean that the Corvette would become quieter, more powerful, and be more fuel efficient. While it's currently just a thought, it certainly sparks a lot of debate about what this would mean for the vehicle that is considered to be one of the most iconic American cars of all time.

If you'd like to check out what other hybrid vehicles are currently on our lot, or take a look at the non-hybrid 2014 Chevy Corvette, stop by our Caro Area Chevy Dealer today! We have a great selection of New Chevrolet Cars and New Chevrolet Trucks - both hybrid and not. With such a variety of vehicles, you'll be sure to find something you love. So swing by today and let us help you into a vehicle you deserve!
