6th Annual PJ's For Preemies Clothing Drive

BAY CITY, Mich. – This year at Graff Bay City we are officially designating the upcoming holiday months as the Season of Giving! We are so appreciative of all the support our community shows us throughout the year and we want to do what we can to give back, starting with the 6th Annual PJ's for Preemies Clothing Drive!

Every year this event is a smashing success and it is truly rewarding to see our friends, family, and neighbors come together to make a difference in the lives of families who are faced with premature births. Since no one expects their child to be born prematurely, these families are often not prepared with the clothing their child needs. Through the PJ's for Preemies Clothing Drive, we are able to provide the right sized clothing for these babies during their stay at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, since they are typically much smaller than full-term babies.

We want to invite you to join us in the 6th Annual PJ's for Preemies Clothing Drive to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI! Just stop by Graff Bay City to drop off your donation of new or like-new pjs with snap or button fronts in preemie through 3 month sizes! In particular, gowns and newborn sizes are needed this year! And, like last year, GRAFF BAY CITY WILL MATCH ALL DONATIONS!

5th Annual PJ's for Preemies Clothing Drive

BAY CITY, Mich.- The PJ's for Preemies Drive is back and Hank Graff Bay City could not be more excited to be involved with this program again this year! The 5th Annual PJ's for Preemies Clothing Drive is going on now and we need your help!

Bringing a child into this world is an exciting time, but unfortunately some babies are born prematurely and must spend extra time at the hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICO). Not only can this be a stressful time for those families, but often these parents are left unprepared without appropriate clothing for their child while at the NCIU. Since most 0-3 month clothing sizes are designed to fit babies that weigh 7-9 pounds, this clothing is way too big for a baby that only weighs 3-5 pounds!

This is why we are asking for your help! We are working to collect preemie and newborn clothing for the NCIU at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw so that we can provide parents with clothing for their baby that fits properly, and try to help "normalize" the parenting experience during that time. The new or like-new preemie and newborn clothing must snap or button on the front only, in order to accommodate wires and tubes (no zippers). This year, pajamas and sleep sacks are also needed, and since more sleep sacks have zippers, that will be acceptable.

Fourth Annual PJ’s for Preemies Clothing Drive

The 4^th annual PJ’s for Preemies clothing drive is accepting donations of clothing for premature newborns going to the Covenant Health Care Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Saginaw. The clothes must snap or button in the front ONLY. Please no zippers, this is in order to allow for wires and tubes. Also being accepted in addition to pajamas are sleep sacks (most sleep sacks have zippers and that is acceptable). PJ’s for Preemies will accept new or like new preemie and newborn clothing (sizes preemie through 3 months).

PJ’s for Preemies was founded in 2008 when Christi, a new mother of a premature baby, and employee of Graff Bay City Chevrolet, noticed that the hospital didn’t have clothes that were suitable for the babies in the NICU.  Realizing how her own experience could have been more normalized with a simple addition of clothing that fit her child; she started PJ’s for Preemies.

Now in it’s fourth year PJ’s for Preemies has grown to include nine area businesses and the support of many generous donations! We are proud of all the hard work that Christie has put in, and how she has made PJ’s for Preemies grow in such a short time! However, there is still work that needs to be done, and your help is greatly appreciated.  All you need to do is take your donation to any of the following area businesses: Graff Chevrolet, Prime Brothers Furniture, Maier & Associates, Verizon wireless, Lil Muffins, Sweet Peach Baby Boutique and Stock Pot all in Bay City, and Magic Bean Café and Garber Buick in Saginaw.
