2016 Chevrolet Camaro Rendered

2016 Chevrolet Camaro Rendered
BAY CITY, Mich. – It's the name of the game. When an updated or new vehicle is nearing its debut, rumors, spy shots, and renderings begin to circle the web. While these materials give us some insight into what the car, truck or SUV will look like, there is still some mystery involved because nobody can know for sure what the final model will look like once the vehicle is done testing. Well, we're at it again with Top Speed's 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Rendering...could this be it?!

The 2016 version of the sports car has been spotted out and about around Detroit while undergoing testing near GM's headquarters, and the people at Top Speed have done a great job rendering the 2016 Chevy Camaro from those sightings. While there is definitely still a 1967-69 influence, and none of the changes appear too drastic, some minor updates will add to a design that is lighter, sleeker, and more dynamic. Better proportions, a cleaner shape, and a small-block exhaust note will all ride on GM's Alpha platform. However, details on where the car's power will come from are still unknown. But if the Camaro SS 1LE and Z/28 tell us anything, the 2016 Camaro will be nothing short of impressive and is expected to offer seven-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmission options.

A main driver in sticking with the current model's '67-'69 influence is the car's first place standing in its segment and continued sales success. Only time will tell if this 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Rendering is the real deal, so stay tuned for more updates!

Or, stop by our Saginaw Chevy Dealership to check out the current model 2014 Chevrolet CamaroHank Graff Chevy is located at 3636 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706 and we are here to help you find the perfect car, truck, or SUV for your needs! For more information on Hank Graff Chevrolet, or for any questions call us at (989) 684-4411 or visit our website: www.GraffBayCity.com.

Motor Trend's 2014 Best Driver's Car is Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

Motor Trend's 2014 Best Driver's Car is Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
BAY CITY, Mich. – When Chevrolet got to work redesigning the Camaro Z/28, it was the automaker's mission to create the most capable, best-handling Camaro in history. Well, that mission was a success because the 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 is Motor Trend's 2014 Best Driver's Car!

Only new or significantly revised performance vehicles are considered for the award which requires extensive subjective and objective testing. To determine which vehicle delivered the most engaging behind the wheel experience, Motor Trend conducted testing including digitally instrumented laps at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and high-speed driving up and down a 4.3-mile hill climb on a closed rural highway before coming to the conclusion that the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro is Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car! In fact, the fifth generation Camaro is the first American-brand car to win the honor in the 7 years the award has been around!

Here's what Motor Trend had to say about it:
“The transformation of the fifth-generation Camaro from ‘muscle car that handles pretty well’ to Best Driver’s Car winner is astounding. You feel the superior engineering in how the car responds to inputs both internal and external. From within, the car reacts immediately and precisely to your commands but doesn’t punish your mistakes. From the outside, the Z/28’s suspension attacks bumps and dips with an unbridled passion for keeping the tires on the pavement.”
Not that you needed another reason to make the 2014 Camaro Z/28 your own, but now you do because it has been officially recognized as the 2014 Best Driver's Car! If you want to experience what it's all about, check out the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Brochure or come see us today at our Midland Chevrolet Dealership!

Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Wheel Slip

Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Wheel Slip
BAY CITY, Mich.– The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has been noted as the most track-capable Camaro in history, but arriving there wasn't a walk in the park for engineers. Producing a vehicle that was so capable and powerful resulted in some unexpected issues for engineers, but quick and creative solutions to problems like the Camaro Z/28's wheel slip allowed the Z/28 to come out on top!

The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28's wheel slip is actually a problem engineers encountered directly as a result of the performance car's power. The Chevy team selected only the best suppliers when designing the Z/28, including Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires and Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors. But the tire's intense traction and the brake's 1.5 g deceleration force were actually causing the wheels to rotate inside the tires!

To sort out the rotation problem, the team marked a chalk like on one of the tires relative to the valve system on the wheel before the car hit the track, then after taking a lap they realized the tire had rotated at least a full 360 degrees! So first they tested a racing technique to reduce the slippage: applying an abrasive paint around the bead of the wheel where the tire meets the rim. But found out that the paint wasn't strong enough! Needing much more texture, engineers tested and found success in media blasting: shooting a gritty material through an air gun at the wheel's surface to create texture in the paint for the wheel to grip.

The Camaro Z/28's wheel slip solution is just one example of the creative thinking used in developing the most track-capable Camaro ever. The best part is that the Z/28 will hit dealerships this spring, so you will have the chance to take one home soon! Hank Graff Chevy is located at 3636 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706. Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R Makes Racing Debut

Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R Makes Racing Debut

BAY CITY, Mich.- A new chapter begins in racing this week as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R makes its racing debut at the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge in Daytona! Sharing many similar elements with the 2014 Camaro Z/28, the new Z/28.R will be one of the most production based competitors on the track!

This Friday, the Camaro Z/28 will return to its roots as the new Z/28.R debuts in a 2.5-hour endurance race to kick off the 12-race 2014 season. Staying true to their racing roots, the 2014 Camaro Z/28 and Z/28.R were developed alongside eachother, incorporating many of the same performance elements. This resulted in the 2014 Camaro Z/28 being the most track-capable Camaro ever, and the Z/28.R being the closest to a production-spec race car that you will find! Aside from series-mandated equipment needed for endurance racing, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R makes its racing debut with most of the same specifications as the Z/28, like the same downforce-generating aero package and LS7 7.0L V8 engine.

Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R Makes Racing Debut

Through hard-fought victories, the original Camaro Z/28 became an iconic performance car, and the production of the Z/28.R stays true to its roots as the new model heads out to kick off a new chapter in racing! 2014 Chevy Camaro Receives KBB's Best Resale Value Award

2014 Chevy Camaro Receives KBB's Best Resale Value Award
BAY CITY, Mich.- The dream of owning a modern-day muscle car can now become your reality when you know that you'll get the best return on your investment! But how do you know that you'll get the best resale value? The 2014 Chevy Camaro received KBB’s Best Resale Value Award in the sports car category!

An important aspect to consider when purchasing a sports car is the vehicle's residual value, and Kelley Blue Book awarded the Camaro V6 with the Best Resale Value for exactly that reason, the sports car’s high residual value! The 2014 Chevy Camaro earned KBB's Best Resale Value Award because after three years the car retains 64.3 percent of its original value, and after five years retains 50.3 percent of its original value! A combination of the vehicle's stlying, multi-link rear suspension, V6 LFX engine, and competitive $24,500 base price explain why the Camaro retains such a high residual value.

If you've been dreaming of a new Chevrolet Camaro, you now have even more reason to make it a reality this holiday season! Plus, with 30 mpg and four seats, it's suitable for both friends and family! Come take one for a test drive today at Graff Bay City! Hank Graff Chevy is located at 3636 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706. 5 Chevrolet Camaro Secrets

5 Chevrolet Camaro Secrets

BAY CITY, Mich. - Since it's release by GM in September of 1966, the Chevy Camaro has experienced extreme changes to its interior and exterior components - all while keeping the great body and speed that keeps it as firmly planted as one of America's favorite vehicles. However, there are 5 Chevrolet Camaro secrets that you probably didn't know:

1. When GM was deciding on names, the Camaro was almost called the Panther. In fact, it was referred to as the Chevrolet Panther and Chevy even had the molds made for the Panther emblem! However, GM liked the two names beginning with "C", so the Chevrolet Camaro won.

2. The name "Camaro" actually has no meaning. It's simply a name that was invented and has no actual meaning in any language. Many argue that "Camaro" means "friend" in French, but this is just a myth.

3. The Camaro was actually imported from Canada. Although it's no longer an import, the Camaro was built in St. Therese, Quebec from 1993 until 2002. Hard to believe, eh?

4. Between the years of 1988 and 1991, the most commonly stolen car in the U.S was the 1986 Chevy Camaro. In fact, 1 out of every 5 built in the year 1986 ended up being stolen.

5. The Chevy Camaro has "outpaced" the Ford Mustang. This means that the Camaro has been the official pace car at the Indianapolis 500 six times, while the Mustang has only been the pace car for three. Only the Corvette has paced more 500s than the Camaro, with a record 12 times!

With these 5 Chevrolet Camaro secrets fresh in your brain, we hope that you are getting excited for the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro release date. For now, take a look at our 2013 Chevy Camaro Brochure or stop by our Mt. Morris Area Chevrolet Dealership today to take one for a test drive. Custom Chevrolet Camaro Featured In DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo'

BAY CITY, Mich.- DreamWorks' latest animation highlights an engine revving collaboration with Chevrolet to help power a little snail named Turbo. The feature film that bears the little snail's name features a custom Chevy Camaro as well as Chevrolet-powered Indy cars! It goes without saying that the automaker is excited about the collaboration and the Custom Chevrolet Camaro featured in DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo'!

In fact, Chevy is so excited about the alliance that they have created a special real-life replica of the custom Camaro featured in the film. And in order to enhance the film's authentic racing environment, Chevy consulted with DreamWorks on the design of the animated vehicles.

In the one of the summer's most anticipated films, Chevy plays an integral role in two of the film's key moments. First, the custom Chevy Camaro shines on the big screen during an encounter with Turbo, after which the little snail receives his speed. Then, later in the film, the classic Chevrolet "bow-tie" logo is featured in the scenes set at the Indianapolis 500. Paralleling the movie, the Chevy bow-tie was prominently featured at the Indy 500 last weekend!

In a film about a slow snail who dreams of being fast, the custom Chevrolet Camaro featured in DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo' gives the film's hero his first taste of high-speed driving on the open road. To experience the custom Camaro replica in real life, look out for the muscle car's appearance at auto shows and events across the U.S.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

BAY CITY, Mich.- We saw the updated 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS and Z/28 at the New York Auto Show, but what about the rest of the lineup? The latest 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots give us a better idea of what to expect for the 1LE, ZL1, and RS models, revealing some updated and some current features.

The 2014 Chevy Camaro 1LE looks like it will keep its current blacked-out hood and matte-black rear spoiler, but will adopt some of the new features that debuted on the Camaro SS like the revised lower front fascia, hood vent, and slim grille. As far as power, we expect the 2014 Camaro 1LE to keep its 426 HP 6.2-liter V8 engine.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

The 2014 Chevy Camaro ZL1, however, won't receive the updated front end since Chevrolet felt that changing the front fascia could have caused issues related to the packaging of its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and would have required too much extra work to improve aerodynamics. But, the 2014 Camaro ZL1 will receive the new CHMSL lights above the license plate area and on top of the trunk lid.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

Last but not least, the 2014 Camaro RS prototype loses the SS' hood vent but adds two more exhaust outlets, amping up the curb appeal with 4 exhaust outlets. Keeping the same bold five-spoke wheels, the RS fog light trim appears to be much more simpler that that on the more powerful models.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

Chevrolet's muscle car lineup will be getting some updates for 2014 as we can see in the latest Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots! If you can't wait for the Camaro 1LE, ZL1, and RS to hit the streets, check out our 2013 Chevy Camaro Brochure, or stop by to take one for a spin at your Midland Area Chevrolet Dealer! 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Details

2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Details
BAY CITY, Mich.- Originally introduced in 1967, Chevrolet shocked the automotive industry at the 2013 New York International Auto Show by introducing the 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28, a surprise we didn't see coming! The most iconic Camaro in history has officially returned!

The first Camaro Z/28 was built with a smaller and lighter 302-cubic-inch V8 engine, quick-ratio steering, and a heavy duty suspension to compete in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am 2 class. The road-racing 1967 Camaro Z/28 was not available with an automative transmission or air conditioning either.

Drastically updated from the original model, the newest Z/28 has become the most track-capable offering in Camaro's history! 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Details include the 2014 Camaro's updated exterior design along with a full aerodynamics package that creates downforce at speed. Solely focused on track capability, increased grip, increased stopping power, and reduced curb weight allowed the 2014 Camaro Z/28 to perform 3 seconds faster that the Camaro ZL1 in initial testing. In fact, the Z/28 is a whopping 300 pounds lighter than the ZL1! The heart of the 2014 Camaro Z/28 is the lighter, naturally aspirated 7.0L LS7. Staying true to its roots, the Z/28 is offered only with a manual transmission and comes with air conditioning, but only as an option.
“As the ultimate track-capable Camaro, this car restores the mission of the original Z/28, and serves as a testament to the expertise of Chevrolet as the best-selling brand of performance cars. The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight, high-revving, dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers for track use; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”
-Mark Reuss, President, GM North America.
2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Details
After setting out to make the fastest road-racing Camaro possible, Chevrolet proves successful with the completely track focused, but still street legal, 2014 Camaro Z/28!
