OnStar RemoteLink App Sees Record Number of Remote Starts

BAY CITY, Mich.– We're going to state the obvious here...this winter has been one of the most miserable we've seen in years with records lows and snow totals, and we're all still freezing cold. But, some are staying warmer than others thanks to the OnStar RemoteLink App which saw a record number of remote starts this winter!

In the type of arctic weather that we have seen this winter, a remote car start can be your saving grace. It looks like a lot of people quickly realized that as soon as temperatures plummeted, because the OnStar RemoteLink App saw a record number of remote start requests! Just this past January, the app was downloaded more times than any previous January on record, and two significant records followed for remote start and vehicle data requests through the app. On January 7th a single-day record was set with more than 200,000 requests sent across all GM brands, followed by a single-hour record set on January 28th with over 20,000 requests! Notably, compared to the owners of any other GM vehicle, Chevy Cruze owners used the app the most, making 2,909,674 requests through the app, 55 percent of which were for remote start!

Ready to download the app? With OnStar's RemoteLink mobile app you can use the remote start feature to start up your car no matter where you are. Your vehicle will remain locked until you turn the key in the ignition. 900 Miles On One Tank In The 2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel

Next Generation 2015 Chevy Cruze

BAY CITY, Mich.- The Detroit Auto Show may be over, but we've got news on a new Chevrolet vehicle. The Next Generation 2015 Chevy Cruze has been spotted in Northern Europe while undergoing some cold weather testing! Although General Motors has tried to disguise the vehicle as resemble the Chevy Sonic, this is indeed the next-gen Chevrolet Cruze. The compact sedan just hit the market in 2011, but we can see many design changes to the Chevy Cruze that will land in Fall 2014, making it a 2015 model.

Design-wise, rear-seat passengers will enjoy more space in the 2015 Chevy Cruze with a length increase in the rear section. As well as additional storage in the trunk. Taking a closer look, you'll also notice a new taillight configuration and more rounded front end with lower fenders. When you reach for the door handle, you will notice that those have moved up a little bit too. Overall the Next Generation 2015 Chevy Cruze will also switch to the new global D2XX platform which will eventually underpin everything from the next-gen Chevy Volt to the Equinox.
