2014 Chevrolet Impala 2LTZ Review

2014 Chevrolet Impala 2LTZ Review
BAY CITY, Mich. - The 2014 Chevy Impala quickly became Chevy's fastest selling vehicle and there is a reason for that. Read our 2014 Chevrolet Impala 2LTZ review that is so good, you might want to run out and buy one for yourself.

On the outside, the 2014 Impala is quite different from the previous generation, with an extended rear end and strong, blocky front. LED lights are installed at the bottom of the grill, giving the car a slick look; especially when the sun goes down.

From front to back, the car is a total of 201.3 inches in length, which makes the vehicle pretty big. However, this gives passengers a ton of space inside to stretch out and relax. One review even claims that a six foot man was able to sit comfortably in the backseat with knee and head room to spare. No more stiff legs and bent necks for those tall passengers!

As for how the car runs, it's a smooth ride that can go from 0-to-60 in 6.8 seconds. Although the Impala is almost silent when on, it gives a nice roar when you push the pedal to the metal. With a 305 horsepower, 3.6 liter direct-injected V6 engine, offering up 263 lb.-ft of torque, the Impala has plenty of power. This engine is also E85 compatible, so if you're worried about being green, there is a more environmentally friendly option. A 2.5L Ecotec 4 engine is available as well.

As for gas mileage, it averages about 22 to 23 mpg, with 17 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

2014 Chevy Impala Review

2014 Chevy Impala Review

BAY CITY, Mich.- As the newest Chevy Impala hits the market, it is the automaker's goal to break the vehicle's rental car stereotype. This 2014 Chevy Impala Review reveals that the 10th generation Impala does just that. With its eye-catching exterior styling, modern underpinnings, and updated furnishings, the Chevrolet Impala is making a comeback, all while staying true to Chevy's traditional value equation.

In the fight for a part of the half-million-cars-per-year large car segment, the 2014 Impala offers three trim levels, wheel sizes, and engines, as well as additional options to compete against both domestic and imported rivals. With prices starting just below $30,000 and ranging to over $40,000, Chevy has provided effective fixes for previous flaws without becoming too expensive.

Notably, the over 20 year old W-platform has been replaced by the long version of the Opel-designed Global Epsilon chassis along with obvious major changes to the exterior styling. Specific interior changes have been made as well including a net gain of 5.7 inches in combined front and rear leg space over the 2013 Impala. More leg room also reveals that the next-gen Impala is designed more towards adult trips rather than to accomodate children. So while there are no climate or entertainment controls in the rear, the backrests fold in 40/60 sections and the trunk offers 18.8 cubic feet of truck space for home projects or road trips. One drive in the new 2014 Chevrolet Impala will have you noticing the changes to the previous ride, handling, roominess, and comfort issues.

While Chevrolet has installed MyLink technology in other models already, the second generation MyLink system is the first to be installed in the 2014 Chevy Impala. The optional 8-inch touch screen offers Bluetooth technology, natural voice recognition, and static movie play capability. Input gestures include the option to swipe, flick, click, or drag, in addition to dashboard and steering wheels knobs and buttons for entertainment and climate controls. Stay on track with high resolution 3D navigation mapping and keep your belongings safe with the 2014 Chevy Impala's special PIN-activated secret storage bin behind the touch screen.

Performance-wise, the optional 3.6-liter aluminum V6 engine produces 305 horsepower while maintaining 29 mpg in highway driving. More impressive fuel economy will be achieved with the two four-cylinder engines that look to push efficiency to over 30 mpg--a 2.4-liter with eAssist mild hybridization and a 196 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder. Not to mention, with the acoustic laminated glass, triple door seals, and cavity baffles, this just might be the quietest Chevy ever. And as always, this Chevrolet will keep you safe with unmatched safety gear like four-direction alerts, adaptive cruise control, automatic collision-avoiding brakes, lane departure warning, and back up camera. Plus, 10 airbags come standard in the cabin to keep you safe in the event of an accident.
