Meet The All-New 2016 Chevy Cruze

BAY CITY, Mich. - Are you ready to meet the all-new 2016 Chevy Cruze? General Motors revealed the all new Cruze last night at the Fillmore Theater in Downtown Detroit to the delight of auto-insiders, press, writers and photographers. The Cruze is Chevy's best-selling car and the new model is larger, faster, lighter and more fuel efficient.

The '16 Cruze will make its way to dealerships in the spring of 2016 (we know, we wish it would get here earlier as well), and this updated version looks to address the faults of the older models: noisy, underpowered engine, cramped back seat even for young kids and a bland look. Mary Barra revealed an updated and more sophisticated Cruze last night which looked more aerodynamic, longer, and lighter (250 pounds lighter, to be exact).

But don't worry, when you meet the all-new 2016 Chevy Cruze next spring it won't look completely unrecognizable. Alan Batey, GM's North American President explains, "We attained the attributes that made the original Cruze a hit around the globe and built on them to make this car more sophisticated." Sounds good to us!

The new Cruze comes FULL of new features! The most exciting is the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which GM integrated into its new models a few weeks ago. There is also 2 inches more of legroom in the rear seat, a completely redesigned instrument panel and a softer, more luxurious interior. The exterior is a sleeker version of the previous model, with a lower wind drag that is similar to the redesigned Impala and Malibu.

The Chevrolet Cruze Surpasses 3.5 Million In Global Sales

BAY CITY, Mich. - General Motors should take time and really thank the Chevy Cruze for its ultimate long-term recovery, as the Chevrolet Cruze surpasses 3.5 million in global sales. The top-selling Cruze has been a favorite of auto buyers and auto industry insiders alike, so it's no surprise that the Cruze is seeing the amount of success it is. GM's Global Brand Chief stated that, "By consolidating design, engineering and marketing efforts, we were able to produce an award-winning, value-driven sedan that won over customers around the world."

THAT is how the Chevy Cruze surpasses 3.5 million in global sales, by creating a car the entire planet will love. Currently the Chevy Cruze is an absolute hit with youthful motorists, especially recent college grads, and is the popular segment's second-best seller to drivers younger than 25. Additionally, 35% of those customers are new to Chevy, who sold more than 273,000 Cruze's in the U.S last year.

The ’16 Cruze Will Be Unveiled In Detroit On June 24th

BAY CITY, Mich. – After years of waiting its turn to return to the compact-car segment, Chevrolet FINALLY broke through with the first-generation Chevy Cruze. The Cruze is a truly formidable player in the compact-car game and in all honesty, the Cruze plays the game extremely well! However, the Cruze is in need of a re-do, a cosmetic tinkering, if you will and we now finally have a date from Chevrolet.

Chevy has announced the ’16 Cruze will be unveiled in Detroit on June 24^th. The 2016 Cruze unveiling rounds out what Chevrolet has called its 2015 mantra, “Five in’15”. Other releases include the ’16 Volt, ’16 Malibu, ’16 Spark and obviously, the ’16 Camaro.  By releasing these five new models, Chevy is keeping its current lineup at nearly 85% new, reserving the truck remodels for a later refresh date.

The 2016 Cruze is coming stock piled with new features including a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, with seven cogs being a segment first for a DCT system. The 2016 Cruze will also feature and have full support for Apple’s CarPlay system and the Android Auto, which you can read about here.
