Camaro Gears Up For The Battle Against The Mustang

BAY CITY, Mich. – Woah! Shots fired as the Camaro gears up for battle against the Mustang. The 2016 Camaro isn’t even going to be revealed until May 16^th on Belle Isle, but that doesn’t stop the back and forth between Ford and Chevy in regards to the Camaro vs. the Mustang. Everyone in the automobile community is eager to see what the next-gen Camaro brings to the table, and how it stacks up against its newly revised rival, the Ford Mustang.

Mark Reuss, GM’s President, stated to Fox News; “I’m very confident. Very confident,” in regards to how the new Camaro will compete with the new Mustang. Reuss also explained that he had driven both cars back to back the week prior, and the enhancements left him quite content that Chevy is well equipped in the pony car wars. Camaro gears up for the battle against the Mustang, and from what we know now the latest Camaro switched from a full-sized Holden developed Zeta platform to the Alpha platform that the Cadillac CTS and ATS ride on. GM has also opted to infuse more aluminum into the next-gen Camaro, resulting in the new model being 200 pounds lighter.

The all-new 2016 Camaro is expected to bring in a 6.2 liter V8, the same engine that powers the Corvette Stingray. The Camaro will hit with 460 horsepower while, the current Mustang’s 5.0-liter V-8 puts out 435 horsepower. It will definitely be the battle of American muscle once the new Camaro comes out, and we CANNOT wait to see it!

Chevy Gets Ready For Baseball Season

BAY CITY, Mich. – Unless you live under a rock, you may have noticed that Major League Baseball opened up its 2015 season this past Monday. Opening Day is a major holiday here in Michigan, with thousands of people heading to downtown Detroit to watch the Tigers open up, what most hope to be, a successful season with a run at the World Series Championship. Chevy gets ready for baseball season and if you have ever been to Comerica Park or have watched the games on TV, you might have noticed the two Chevy vehicles perched atop the Chevy Fountain in centerfield. Every year, Chevy chooses select vehicles from its new lineup to display throughout the season. Chevrolet has sponsored the fountain for the past six seasons, and this year a Velocity Yellow Corvette Z06 and a special Midnight Edition Silverado grace the walls of the centerfield fountain.

“As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball, what better way could Chevrolet show our love of the game than by giving our vehicles a bird’s eye view of our hometown team?” said Paul Edwards, Chevy’s VP of Marketing. Chevy gets ready for baseball season every year by putting two new Chevy models atop the fountain, which features a number of intricate and entertaining displays and the sound of a growling tiger that can be heard with each Detroit home run.

As you can imagine, it takes a bit of creativity to get the two models up onto the fountain, especially when it’s done in the rain. It takes crewmembers three hours to get each vehicle into the best position, using cranes and a very strategic plan. So, next time you make your way down to see the Tigers play some ball, or happen to catch an inning or two on TV, pay close attention to the two Chevys mounted on the centerfield wall, cheering on the home team to drive in those centerfield homeruns!

2016 Chevy Spark Is Debuting A More Mature Look

2016 Chevy Malibu Stole The Show

BAY CITY, Mich. – We have previously blogged about the new 2016 Chevy Malibu’s 45 m.p.g and Teen Driver system, and yesterday the 2016 Chevy Malibu stole the show at the New York Auto Show when it was FINALLY revealed to the public. Mark Reuss, executive VP of global product development, purchasing, and supply chain management at GM states that “This car couldn’t just be competitive. In fact, I hate the word. This car had to win” and win indeed.

The 2016 Chevy Malibu stole the show with its newly updated spacious interior, which features more legroom and a completely updated and refurbished dashboard design. The vehicle is about 300 pounds lighter, which improves the new Malibu’s fuel economy by 8% over the previous Malibu model.

The new Malibu is also smarter than the previous model, which is all thanks to the available OnStar 4G LTE in-vehicle connectivity. These active safety alert features include the new Teen Driver system, as well as an adaptive cruise control and automatic parking assist. Wireless phone charging is also available on LT and Hybrid, and comes standard on Premier.

Chevy has improved the Malibu all in all where it was needed the most, cabin space, and added safety features and comfort that thrusts the sedan into the gauntlet of the “family” oriented car sales battle.
