BAY CITY, Mich. – This week is big for New Yorkers! Let’s
Drive NYC, GM’s new car-sharing
program that makes city driving easy, was recently launched. Having a car in the city isn’t worth
the cost and hassle, but this new program is a game changer.
GM recently paired with The Ritz Plaza, a 479-unit luxury
apartment building, and Icon Parking Systems, owning 200 parking structures in
the city, to launch their new car-sharing program, Let’s Drive NYC.
Residents of The Ritz Plaza in midtown Manhattan are the
only ones eligible to use GM’s new car
sharing program. They have a GM-developed app for their phones that will
reserve a vehicle and parking to make city driving easy. The vehicle choices are 10 Chevrolet
vehicles, eight Trax and two Equinox SUVs, but more will be added later.
With consideration of lease payments, The Ritz Plaza gave
residents credit for three hours of rental per month. If used more, renters pay
less than $10 an hour and up to $75 for a 24-hour reservation.
GM is excited to be a leader in an urban mobility strategy
and The Ritz Plaza is excited to better the lifestyles of its residents. GM also
has car-sharing partnerships with China and German so they can understand and
address the problems of urban transportation.
We’ll have to wait until a car-sharing program comes to
Michigan, but until then check out our new Chevy
cars for sale. We can even take care of your auto service at your
Bay City dealership.
