First Corvette Stingray Convertible Sold For $1 Million

First Corvette Stingray Convertible Sold For $1 Million
BAY CITY, Mich.- Over the weekend, the very first Corvette Stingray Convertible went up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida. Lucky bidder, Rick Hendrick bid $1 million to make the first Stingray convertible his own! You may recall that Hendrick already dropped $1.1 million on the first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe too! An avid Corvette collector and NASCAR team owner, Hendrick paid a whopping $2.1 million to own both the coupe and convertible 2014 Corvette Stingray!

Yikes! That's a ton of money just for two cars, even if they are the original 2014 'Vettes. The good news it, all of that money was donated to charity! General Motors has donated the proceeds from the sale of the first 2014 Stingray Coupe and Convertible to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

The first Corvette Stingray Convertible sold for $1 million and while we don't have millions to spend on the original Stingray, we're excited to welcome the new 'Vette to our lot during the third quarter of this year! But that can be a long time to wait, so until then fulfill your need for speed with our 2013 Chevy Corvette Brochure! Or come check out any of our New Chevrolet Cars
