Possibly as soon as 2017 we could see the Chevrolet Bolt concept car hit the market offering conscious drivers a 200-mile electric-range option at an unbelievable $30,000 price tag! With evidence as far back as 2013 of GM executives stating the brand will offer a 200-mile electric car with an affordable price tag, we know they're not messing around! The Chevy Bolt concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show this week, achieves the 200-mile electric range goal by utilizing aluminum, magnesium, carbon fiber, and woven mesh, while keeping an airy-feel for a small car through the use of glass on the roof and windows.
But an impressive electric range isn't the only thing the Chevrolet Bolt is expected to offer. The Chevy EV also is equipped with its own app that turns your smartphone into a key fob, manages ride-sharing, and controls the possible park-and-retrieve feature. What's that? Think of it as your personal valet service! The conceptual park-and-retrieve feature would allow the vehicle to park itself after dropping the driver off at the door!
The Chevrolet Bolt debuted at the Detroit Auto Show as a concept but given the automaker's history in aiming to develop a vehicle that fits these criteria, we have a feeling it won't be a concept for long! But if it's fuel efficiency or eco-friendly you're looking for right now, come see us to learn more about Chevrolet's current lineup!
