First off, GM has estimated that the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid LT will get 48 mpg city, 45 mpg highway, and 47 mpg overall. If that’s not enough of a reason to want this vehicle, we're not sure what is!

The Malibu Hybrid has a slightly altered drive unit and electric motor that is also used in the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The modified technology lets Chevrolet deliver a world-class hybrid with the expertise they have already used in the Volt.

Other features you’ll find in the Malibu Hybrid include:
  • Chevrolet MyLink
  • 7 inch diagonal color touch screen
  • Apple CarPlay & Andriod Auto capability
  •  Rear view camera

6 Suggestions for Traveling With Your Pet

6 Suggestions for Traveling With Your Pet

BAY CITY, Mich. – The holidays are approaching, and it’s time to prepare for your holiday travels. While it’s essential to keep your family safe during your trip, remember it’s important to keep your furry friends safe, too. If you’re taking your pet with you to the festivities this holiday, here are 6 suggestions for traveling with your pet.

6 Suggestions for Traveling With Your Pet

  1. Pets should not roam. Any animal roaming around the car can be a distraction to the driver. The safest way for your pet to travel is in a proper sized carrier that is anchored to the vehicle using a seatbelt or some other secure means. This will keep the carrier from bouncing around the car.
  2. Leave the front seat for humans. We know your pet might be more comfortable sitting in the front with you, but if an airbag deploys your pet could get injured, even in a crate. Put them in the backseat to keep them safe.
  3. Keep pets’ heads inside. If you choose not to have your pet in a crate make sure they’re not sticking their head out the window. While it may be funny to watch their tongues flap in the wind, it is unsafe. Animals can be injured by debris, especially in their eyes, and can get sick from having cold air forced into their lungs.
  4. Rest stop, rest stop, rest stop. The key to road trips with animals is plenty of rest stops. Let them go to the bathroom and stretch out. Always make sure your animals leave the car wearing a collar, an ID tag, and leash.
  5. Give your animal comfort. Some pets don’t like traveling. It’s important to give your animal lots of comfort throughout the ride. You can do this by petting them, giving them a treat, or letting them take their favorite toy. Switch off duties, too; not just one person should care for the pet the entire time.
  6. Never leave your pet alone in a car. While stops may seem short to you, they don’t always feel that way to your animal. It’s very easy for your furry friend to get cold or lonely.
Follow these 6 suggestions for traveling with your pet and your trip will be much easier. Remember your pet is part of the family, too, so keeping them safe is just as important.

Winter Weather Driving Tips

Winter Weather Driving Tips
BAY CITY, Mich.- The first official day of Winter is still over a week away, but we want to prepare you before that bad weather hits! Driving in snow, ice, and freezing rain is never enjoyable, and can be extremely dangerous. So if you have commitments that you have to attend and can't stay home during a winter storm, remember these Winter Weather Driving Tips to stay safe this season!

Winter Weather Driving Tips:

1. Drive slowly since maneuvering on snow-covered roads take much longer than when you are driving on dry pavement. Give yourself extra time to maneuver by slowing down.

2. Again, drive slowly. Everything, including accelerating and decelerating, takes longer in winter weather so to avoid skids and regain traction, accelerate slowly. Also make sure to begin decelerating early since it takes longer to slow down on on snow-covered roads.

3. Rather than giving yourself 3-4 seconds to the car in front of you as you would on dry pavement, increase that distance to 8-10 seconds so that you have extra time should you have to stop or maneuver abruptly.

4. Slamming on your brakes in winter weather can be especially dangerous which it why it's important to drive slowly. But, when you do need to suddenly stop on a snow-covered road, threshold braking is the best method. Just keep the heel of your foot on the floor and apply firm, steady pressure to the brake with the ball of your foot.

5. Hills covered in ice or snow can be difficult to navigate in the winter, since trying to increase your speed as you head uphill can make your wheels spin. Instead, try to get some inertia before you reach the hill and then allow the inertia to carry you up.

6. While you're driving up the hill, avoid stopping if you can since trying to accelerate from a stop while on an incline can be problematic.

If you're looking for a great vehicle that can handle the snow, stop by Graff Bay City today and we can help find one from our new Chevy cars and trucks for sale. They'll keep you safe all year long! Hank Graff Chevy is located at 3636 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706. GM is Leading the Race in Solar Energy

GM is Leading the Race in Solar Energy

BAY CITY, Mich. – According to the Solar Means Business report released by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), GM is leading the race in solar energy for the automotive industry.

But not only is GM leading the race in solar energy for the automotive industry, it’s also ranked No. 20 in the top 25 solar-powered companies in the U.S. In 2013, GM joined SEIA to advocate for a better U.S. solar industry. GM has added 10 solar arrays since then and also helped launch the Business Renewables Center.

In addition to these solar arrays, GM is installing an 850-kilowatt array at their Bowling Green plant, home of the Chevrolet Corvette, in Kentucky. It will be the largest solar installation done by any car company in Kentucky. The setup will generate 1.2 million kilowatt hours of energy annually, enough to make about 850 Corvettes.

Also, in the next several months, GM has plans to add more than 2 megawatts of solar energy to its facilities. One of them will be a 466-kilowatt array at their Rochester Operations facility in New York and another will be an 800-kilowatt array at the Warren Transmission plant here in Michigan.

Overall, GM has an industry-leading 11.4 megawatts of solar arrays throughout 16 U.S. facilities. These arrays generate about 15 million kilowatt hours of energy, which eliminates about 11 million pounds of coal burned.
