GM Will Offer Smartphone Wireless Charging in 2014 Cars

GM Will Offer Smartphone Wireless Charging in 2014 Cars
BAY CITY, Mich. - With the amount of technology that drivers carry around with them, and the systems available in cars, it can seem like your car is packed with wires. That's why GM will now offer Smartphone wireless charging in 2014 cars. Designed with your comfort in mind, these wireless charging stations will help reduce the clutter inside your Chevy vehicle.

Instead of using the cables and plugs required to charge your Smartphone, some 2014 Chevy vehicles will now come with a Powermat surface - the 2014 Chevy Volt being one of them. This surface draws electricity, allowing you to place your Smartphone on the mat to charge it. GM will be the first carmaker to build the technology into its vehicles.

In order for the phone to work with the Powermat surface, it must be capable of recharging. This capability comes from either built-in technology, or the use of a case that will allow it to recharge. As Powermat surfaces become more popular, more phones will be released that are recharging compatible.

GM will offer Smartphone wireless charging in 2014 cars, but only a select few. If you'd like to discuss which vehicles come with this technology, or how you can have it installed in your current vehicle, stop by our Caro Area Chevrolet Dealer today! We have a large selection of New Chevrolet Cars and New Chevrolet Trucks - all with great technology that we know you'll love.
